South Korean author Baek Se Hee dies at 35; donates organs

Baek Se Hee, the author of “I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki,” has passed away at 35 years old.

According to a report by The Korea Herald on Friday, other details about her death have not yet been disclosed.

The report added that the South Korean author donated her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys to the Korea Organ Donation Agency, saving five lives. 

Baek published “I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki” in 2018.

The part memoir, part self-help book includes dialogues with her psychiatrist as she navigated her depression.

The book has sold around 600,000 copies in Korea and has been translated and published in more than 25 countries.

In 2019, Baek released its sequel, “I Want to Die but I Still Want to Eat Tteokbokki.”
