'Avisala, Europa': 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre' debuts at Frankfurt Book Fair
FRANKFURT, Germany — Germany-based Filipinos and Frankfurt residents got a preview of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" through the fantaserye’s first collectible book of the same name.
The collectible made its European debut at the 77th Frankfurt Book Fair, where the Philippines is the Guest of Honor.
"Sang’gre’s" publisher, Kath Eustaquio-Derla of PaperKat Books, hosted a book reading at the fair’s popular “Jeepney Journey” event space in Roßmarkt Square on Saturday afternoon, local time.
“Napaka-proud po na dala-dala natin [ang Sang’gre] sa Frankfurt Book Fair, kung saan ang stories ng mga Pilipino ay naka-highlight sa world stage,” Eustaquio-Derla told GMA Integrated News.
(I feel proud to have brought Sang’gre to the Frankfurt Book Fair, where Filipino stories are highlighted on a world stage.)
Eustaquio-Derla shared that "Sang’gre" is a “milestone project” because it is the first of the many upcoming books to be released under the "Encantadia" series, and that it commemorates many important occasions.
(We are celebrating GMA Network’s 75th anniversary this year. At the same time, we are also celebrating the 'Encantadia' franchise’s 20th year. And 'Sang’gre' is the first book in this collectible series released in Europe. A lot of our kababayan already wanted to buy Sang’gre here at the Book Fair. But they have to wait for a while because we will first release it in Philippine bookstores and in GMA’s store).
Aside from "Sang’gre," Eustaquio-Derla also brought to the Frankfurt Book Fair the following books:
- "Firefly (English Version), from Kapuso director Zig Dulay's film "Firefly"
- "Si Gren, Ang Kaibigan Kong Alien," from the series "My Guardian Alien"
- "Lipad" by Mika Salamanca
- "Si Migoy, Ang Batang Tausug" by Nelson Canlas and Dr. Isabel Cabel Moreno-Go
- "Ang Kuwento ni Putli Mandi" by Nelson Canlas and Chef Miggy Cabel Moreno
The Frankfurt Book Fair will be open to the general public until Sunday.
