Ahtisa Manalo shares details on upcoming Miss Universe journey: designers, NatCos, documentary
Ahtisa Manalo has revealed exciting details about her upcoming Miss Universe journey, sharing insights into her national costume, evening gown, and a behind-the-scenes documentary on her preparations.
During her send-off event held on Thursday at Citadines Millennium in Ortigas, the Philippine bet said her national costume is designed by Mak Tumang, the same designer who did Catriona Gray's iconic lava gown.
"it's a national costume that hasn’t been seen in a while in the Miss Universe stage," Ahtisa said, adding "I’m really, really excited ‘cause it’s a good representation of the Philippine culture and also my own personality. So I’m very excited for everyone to see that."
The beauty queen also disclosed that Val Taguba will be among her designers in the upcoming beauty pageant.
“Val Taguba, the person who made my evening gown in Miss Universe Philippines, will also be my designer for Miss Universe. And my team have seen already the gowns and all I can say is they’re very happy,” she said
Ahtisa expressed her excitement for everyone to see what they have prepared.
In addition to her wardrobe details, Ahtisa announced that she has an upcoming documentary that will give fans an exclusive look into her Miss Universe preparations.
”Usually, fans and supporters would ask what are the things that are going on during your preparation, what are the things that happen before you reach a certain decision,” she said.
Produced by Empire Philippines, the documentary will showcase the meticulous process behind every decision leading up to the competition.
”This is a documentary that we’re putting out of the whole process of how we reach to get the headshot, of how we pick our national costume, how we pick the gowns. So dito, may access kayo kung paano nangyari everything in my preparation,” Ahtisa said.
The documentary will premiere on October 26 on Empire Philippines’ YouTube channel.
Miss Universe 2025 is scheduled to take place in Thailand on November 21.
