‘Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 4’: Powerhouse cast takes the lead in PETA’s upcoming production
A roster of prominent theater and film artists will take centerstage in “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t! It’s Live Sa Cheter!” as the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) formally unveiled the full lead cast of its upcoming production.
Running from June 19 to August 16, 2026, at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City, the fourth installment of the “Septic Tank” franchise brings the satire to the stage, focusing on the realities of producing theater in the Philippines.
The cast is led by Eugene Domingo, joined by Meann Espinosa, Stella Cañete-Mendoza, Andoy Ranay, JC Santos, Melvin Lee, Marlon Rivera, and Joshua Lim So. All portray exaggerated versions of themselves within a play about staging a live production.
Lee plays the producer, Rivera appears as the director within the play, and Lim So takes on the role of the playwright navigating revisions and creative disagreements.
The play is written by Chris Martinez, who also wrote the first two “Septic Tank” films and the third installment, a series. It is directed by Maribel Legarda, with Johnnie Moran as assistant director. Set and costume design is by Gino Gonzales, while music and sound design is by Teresa Barrozo.
The “Septic Tank” franchise previously tackled independent film, mainstream cinema, and historical revisionism. The fourth installment shifts its focus to theater.
