Bea Millan-Windorski says pasarela will be a major focus ahead of Miss Universe 2026
Bea Millan-Windorski said her pasarela, or pageant walk, will be among her main priorities as she prepares to represent the country at the upcoming Miss Universe 2026 competition in Puerto Rico come November.
On Sunday, the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 queen was asked by GMA News Online which aspect of preparation she plans to prioritize for the international pageant.
First crediting her team for helping shape her transformation throughout her pageant journey, Bea said “I’m really lucky to work with a team that’s truly transformed me throughout this journey. I actually got a comment, ‘You’ve blossomed so much since transferring to those who are around you.'"
She also thanked her glam and styling team for helping her evolve into “the woman you see today.”
“I'm excited to continue working with that team. Something that we’ll be working on a lot is pasarela,” Bea said, adding that she previously trained intensively with Ian Mendajar for her walk.
“We transformed my walk from kind of that more bouncy teen vibe to something a little more smooth, a little Latina-inspired, too, because I love Paulina Vega’s approach to pasarela. That's where the liyad actually originated from. But we'll be working intensively to fine-tune that even more,” she said.
Bea expressed confidence in the Philippines’ reputation as a training ground for pageantry, noting that international contestants even travel to the country to improve their skills.
“Women come from all over the world to train here in the Philippines. It shows that we have the best of the bests, especially in the pageant industry. So I'm excited to take that even further and make sure that we bring what the Philippines has to offer to Puerto Rico,” she said.
Representing La Union, Bea bested 49 other candidates during Miss Universe Philippines 2026 held earlier this month.
