Bea Millan-Windorski says pressure ahead of Miss Universe is 'driving me to be the best I can be'

Miss Universe Philippines 2026 Bea Millan-Windorski is embracing the pressure that comes with representing one of pageantry’s biggest powerhouse countries on the international stage.

During her media conference on Sunday, the beauty queen said criticism and expectations are pushing her to improve even further ahead of the global competition in November.

“Pressure is a privilege and it's just driving me to be the best I can be,” Bea said.

The reigning Miss Universe Philippines also acknowledged that criticism is inevitable, but said she chooses to use it as motivation to grow and improve herself.

“I really take criticisms in stride and I'm ready to listen and apply them. And I hope that I can show the entire world that the Philippines is a powerhouse in pageantry for a reason,” she said.

When asked how it feels knowing that pageant fans around the world are already closely watching and supporting her this early in her reign, Bea said international attention is an opportunity to showcase Filipino talent, creativity, and resilience on the global stage.

“It's really a point of pride that I'm able to highlight such amazing Filipino talent to the international stage. And I'm also excited that all eyes are watching the Philippines because that means I have the opportunity not only to showcase Filipino talent but Filipino industriousness, creativity, resilience,” she said.

Bea also shared her excitement over the growing support coming from pageant fans across different regions.

“I really want to leverage the fact that we have fans in Africa and Latin America to let them know that the Philippines is strong, the Philippines has a lot to offer. And I'm really excited to see the Philippines be a leader on the world stage, not just in pageantry but also the fact that we're hosting the ASEAN Regional Conference right now. The Philippines is a force to be reckoned with,” she said.

Representing La Union, Bea bested 49 other candidates during Miss Universe Philippines 2026 held earlier this month.
