The Script's Danny O'Donoghue says PH concerts are unique because of 'Filipino accent'
Danny O’Donoghue of The Script said that doing concerts in the Philippines is unique because he can identify the Filipino accent in the crowd singing along.
On Monday’s episode of “Unang Hirit,” the Irish singer shared what makes performing for Filipino fans memorable.
“It’s so surreal,” he said. “If you listen collectively, the last time we did the Araneta Coliseum, you can hear the Filipino accent.”
"It’s very unique,” he added. “Everyone is in tune and in sync.”
Before ending his guesting on the Kapuso morning show, Danny treated the audience to a live performance of “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.”
The vocalist also shared a heartfelt message for Filipino fans and thanked them for their unwavering support for the band.
“You’re nearly the number one country for support for The Script around the world, so every time we come here it’s an absolute honor,” he said.
“We just want to keep coming back again and again,” he added. “That’s what this is all about, to show our appreciation for our Filipino fans.”
Danny made quite an entrance on "Unang Hirit" riding a jeep. At the morning show, he was also treated to a full Filipino breakfast, and got to sample longganisa, sisig, and pandesal.
The Script is bringing their “Man in the Arena” tour to Manila with a show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City in March 2027.
In 2025, the Irish band also visited the country as part of their "Satellites" world tour.
