SB19 reflects on massive scale of Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale concert at film premiere

SB19 still cannot believe that they were able to pull off a massive outdoor concert for their Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale.

According to 1Z Entertainment, the show that recently won Concert of the Year at the Filipino Music Awards drew nearly 100,000 fans at the SMDC Festival Grounds in April.

At the premiere of the concert film in SM Mall of Asia on Wednesday, the P-pop Kings sat down for a short stage talk after the screening.

"We were really most surprised about how SMDC got to be filled with A'TIN. From the beginning of our planning, we were wondering if we could do outdoor with our hot weather and we were also thinking of our fans of all ages, from the youngest kids to our grandparents," Stell said in Filipino.

"But we did not want to let go of the idea that we were doing something for the first time, so we decided to push through it," he added. "It was a long shot, but we thought things would work out somehow and we were excited to do it."

Seeing top view shots of the audience helped them realize the scale of the concert, which they still had a hard time comprehending as their own.

"We thought it was someone else's concert," Stell joked. "Since we were able to pull off Day 1, we could've gone for Day 2."

Pablo, who had long wondered what it was like to watch an SB19 concert as an audience member, finally got to experience it through the concert film.

"It was really a dream of mine to watch SB19 because A'TIN always said we were really good. I didn't believe them," he quipped.

"As an artist, we monitor our performances and check for mistakes. But the audience have a different experience. So it was a dream that I had, which came true in a way thanks to the film."

Justin said they knew all the risks associated with an outdoor concert and planned for the worst, but they only had to deal with minor technical issues.

"We imagined that the audience would enjoy the show and it would touch their hearts, and I think we delivered the best of that," he said.

Pablo also shared that they were planning to use electric scooters to go around the venue and allow more audience members to see them up close, but it did not push through due to safety precautions.

"I want you to know that we wanted to reach all of you that way. It just did not happen," he said.

"Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale" film is now showing in Philippine cinemas and several other countries. Directed by Yoon Dong Oh, it is available for screening on 2D, SCREENX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX where available.

The original concert, which was SB19's homecoming after their Simula at Wakas world tour, attracted celebrities and fans from all over the world. —CDC, GMA News
