Star City beefs up safety measures

MANILA, Philippines - The management of Star City has tightened the security measures around the amusement park as more and more people start flocking the place. In his report in GMA News’ 24 Oras, Connie Sison said the park has increased its security personnel from 50 to 150. Also, daily maintenance and conditioning of the park’s 34 rides and attractions are conducted to ensure that they are safe. Star City said they have been accommodating about 34,000 customers during weekends since the start of the peak season. “Kaya ina-assure ng Star City management na magkakaroon ng safe na seguridad dito at the same time eh itong mga rides natin eh ligtas at talagang mageenjoy sila (That’s why we want to assure that all our park attractions are safe),” said Jonas Mateo, operations manager of Star City. Pasay City officials last year ordered the temporary closure of Star City following two accidents that left a 13-year-old first year high school student dead and a three-year-old girl in a trauma.- Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
