Sexy moms speak: It's in our attitude — and our choices
By China Jocson
What does it take to stay sexy even after having kids? Keeping fit and eating right help, say two sexy moms, but it's also largely your own attitude and confidence.
Ana Roces began her career as a commercial model, eventually becoming a television and movie actress. She later stepped out of the limelight to start a family and embark on a new career as an image specialist.

For model-actress turned image consultant Ana Roces, confidence is key.

A sexy attitude is the first step to being a sexy mom, says model, makeup artist and blogger Cielo Fronteras.
Two achievers, both beautiful, fit and healthy. Two proud mothers. Cielo has a son, Nico, and Ana has a daughter and a son, Mela and Mateo.
“I gush whenever I get called sexy mommy, it is flattering but truly, it is something every mommy can easily achieve,” says Cielo. Our model mom easily lets us in on her secret: “A sexy mom doesn’t really mean someone with washboard abs and who wears a tiny bikini all the time. We’ve heard this before and it is true: a sexy attitude is the first step to being a sexy mom.”
Ana Roces, now an image specialist for her company, Image Matters, says, “When we feel good about ourselves, everything else follows. As mothers it is important to take care of ourselves, remain fit and healthy not only for our general well-being but for our self-esteem. A quote from Marcus Garvey goes, 'If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life.' Once we are confident of our image, we will be able to achieve more of what is possible in ourselves and in our lives.”
But both moms also agree that one’s attitude and confidence must go hand in hand with physical work look and feel better.
“Exercise is important. Eating the right food as well. Being fit and healthy assures that I will be around well enough for my child’s needs and I will be able to keep up with his future needs,” says Cielo.

Cielo wants to stay healthy for her son, Nico, 8.
Ana says that being busy is not an excuse if you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. “Even walking in the mall and doing errands are forms of exercise,” she says. “As moms, we must learn to adapt and work with what we have. This is not an easy task, but it can be done.”
The right style choices
As Ana's business claims, image matters. In her blog, Cielo confesses that being on a budget, she knows a thing or two about being a sexy mom on a slim wallet. “Go to bazaars and department stores to find inexpensive clothes, make up and accessories,” she says. “Dress appropriately: revealing clothes will not make you sexier, being age-appropriate will. Lastly, fish and vegetables cost less than eating meat and are healthier.”
Ana adds that women—whether moms or not—should dress for their body type. “You can instantly look 10 pounds slimmer when you wear clothes that are flattering to your figure. This also goes with having the right hairstyle, accessories and even eye glass frames,” she says.
Another important element of personal style, she says, is choosing the right color to flatter your skin tone. “Wearing the right color can brighten your appearance, lessen lines and wrinkles as you take on a visible glow,” she says. “Even the right hair color matters. We have to know ourselves and what works for us.”
Ana says that there are free online tests that can help a woman determine her body shape and face shape. Knowing these can help us improve our personal style, she says. “Once we have an idea of what can flatter us, this will help us improve our appearance greatly.”
“And remember,” she adds, “what works for one mom may not work for you, so know yourself and be true to yourself.”
