A feast of styles at Glorietta


What do you get when you put thirty brands or so in one fashion show? A style feast no less. This was exactly what Glorietta’s Style Origin delivered on May 23, at the activity center of the newly renovated wing of Glorietta Mall in Makati.

Glorietta, an Ayala mall, held its edition of Syle Origins with a gala night that presented the latest collection from international and local labels that included Zara, Bambu, Birkenstock, Res-toe-run, Bayo, Nautica, Penguin, Kamiseta, Sebago, Lacoste L!ve, Samsonite, Folded & Hung, The Ramp Crossings, Ecco, LiuJo, Mango, H.E. by Mango, Bershka, Stradivarius, Springfield, Antony Morato, Cache Cache, Armani Exchange, Janilyn, X, Bobby Novenario, Edgar Allan, Vince Camuto, Marks & Spencer, Payless, Steve Madden, Nine West, and Karimadon.

The show presented an array of apparel ranging from formal wear by brands like Bobby Novenario and Edgar Allan to everyday casuals like those from the Bayo and Kamiseta collection.

Men’s wear were also present on the runway; Springfield, H.E. by Mango and Sebago were a few labels that showcased their latest man trend.

Leading designs in shoes and bags were provided by Steve Madden, Nine West, Payless and Janilyn.

The event, aside from presenting these labels was also able to put local brands parallel with their international counterpart. It became a vessel for the audience and shoppers to appreciate the global competency of Filipino brands.

Personalities like singer Mark Bautista, Philippine Azkals’ James Younghusband and Miss Universe 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup modelled for some of the brands. But it was the finale that arrested the unsuspecting audience, GMA Star Marian Rivera emerged in a white Karimadon ensemble. The alluring Marian sashayed the show to a climax. — KBK, GMA News
