Some 110,000 copies, in two designs and P10 denominations, were printed using imported, unwatermarked paper.
Also available are souvenir sheets sold at P30 each.
PHLPost Chairman Cesar Sarino presented the stamps at the BSP head office in Ermita, Manila.
Vice President and BSP president Jejomar Binay and former Bulacan Gov. Roberto Pagdanganan, member emeritus of the BSP National Executive Board and Chairman of the Centennial Celebration Committee, attended the event.
PHLPost noted the first Filipino scouting troop was formed on November 15, 1914.
But it was not until 1923 when scouting was officially established in the country as the Philippine Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Commonwealth Act. No. 111 created the BSP as a public corporation to promote “the ability of boys to do useful things for themselves and others, to train them in Scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using the methods which are in common use by Boy Scouts,” PHLPost said. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
