In a report by Athena Imperial, the police officer became the crowd favorite the moment he took the stage—in costume, swimwear, and formal wear—at the pageant held at the University of Makati.
Flormata defeated 26 other contestants to take the title.
A few weeks ago the police officer, who took the stage name Neil Perez for the pageant, became a viral sensation as netizens learned of his pageant bid.
He is set to compete again next month at the Mister International Men's Pageant, which will be held in Seoul.
“Pagpapatuloy ko ito at gagandahan ko pa, gagalingan ko pa. Yung communication skills, dadagdagan ko pa yung training,” said Flormata.
The officer also thanked the Philippine National Police for their support from the beginning.
Flormata is a graduate of Manuel L. Quezon University and a resident of Tondo, Manila. He served as a member of the PNP's Aviation Security Group at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for six years.
In a statement released last month, the PNP expressed its full support for Flormata, regarding him as an exemplary role model of good health and urging his fellow officers to follow in his footsteps in terms of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle to be of better service to the public. — Bianca Rose Dabu/BM, GMA News
