Last of Makati’s boundary ‘eagles’ to be demolished Friday

Nostalgics may want to flock to the Makati-Manila boundary marker along Osmeña Highway before this weekend to have their last glimpse of it.

The marker is to be demolished at 11 p.m. of Friday, Oct. 24, Skyway O&M Co. said in a tweet Tuesday afternoon.

It said the demolition of the Manila-Makati boundary marker will start at 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, to give way for the Skyway Stage 3.

It is the last of four "eagle boundaries" that marked the borders of Makati for years. The eagle on top of it has already long been removed.

"Goodbye to the last eagle," former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic discipline head Yves Gonzalez tweeted.
