Cirilo F. Bautista Prize for the Novel now accepting entries
There are myriad ways to publish your novel these days, and beginning last October 22, you can now count the Cirilo F. Bautista Prize for the Novel as one of them.
With submissions closing on March 22, the contest is sponsored by De La Salle University's Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center (BNSCWC). The winner will be announced on July 2015, upon which they will receive P100,000 and assistance in securing a publisher from the Center.
Submission guidelines
The competition is open to both published and yet-to-be-published writers, whether they write in English or Filipino.
The theme is open, and all genres are accepted. Maximum word count is 125,000.
Contestants must submit only one entry each. States the press release, “Entry must be the author’s own, which has not previously been published in any form, including self-publication. The entry must contain the title of the novel and the author’s pseudonym.”
The entry should come with a separate sheet containing the following: the author’s real name, pseudonym, title of the entry, total word count, and full contact information.
Entries may be submitted to the Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center office or through bnscwc@yahoo.com, with subject: “CFB Novel Prize.” — Vida Cruz/BM, GMA News
