Typhoon Haiyan from MTV Voices on Vimeo.
A Filipina midwife and nursing student who helped deliver a baby amid the fury of super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) on Nov. 8 last year tells her story on MTV.
Naimah Cale Negad, a midwife and BS Nursing student of the University of the Philippines School of Health Sciences in Leyte, is featured in MTV VOICES.
Negad, who will graduate in June 2015, and her fellows helped a pregnant woman give birth safely while Yolanda pummeled the Visayas. Yolanda left at least 6,300 dead.
Last December, Negad narrated in a Facebook post the "little miracle" of how the mother and baby's lives were saved.
In the MTV Voices video, she retold her story but with an update - a reunion with the baby she helped deliver a year ago.
"I'm lost for words, here they are, this is really amazing, I've finally found them," she said upon seeing the baby. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
