Mark these dates: November 28 to 30, 2014, when Bonifacio Global City holds its annual three-day event, the BGC Passionfest.

All around BGC there will be cultural, art, fitness, and lifestyle activities to celebrate the November 30 birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, after whom the high-end business district is named.

Here’s a rundown of the fun events during the BGC Passionfest:

November 28 (Friday)
The Boni-fide Urban Fiesta will kick off with a street party along Bonifacio High Street. It will feature novelty street lights and street food such as kwek-kwek, fish balls and inihaw goodies.

The Boni-fiesta will also feature Filipino games like patintero, Chinese garter, and pabitin.

There will also be a grand Supremo sale in participating BGC stores.

November 29 (Saturday)
“Run BGC 2014: Urban Adventure,” the country’s largest scavenger hunt, will begin.

This fast-paced citywide race will start with the participants solving a puzzle to learn the location of the first activity.

At each location, participants will have to perform tasks usually done by BGC workers, such as helping pedestrians cross the street, directing traffic, or selling bus tickets.

The registration for the race ends on November 28. Those interested in signing up may visit www.bgc.com.ph.

Interested runners may also sign up at any of the following stores: Toby’s Sports (Glorietta, MOA, Megamall), Runnr (Alabang Town Center, BGC), or Brooks (SM North EDSA).

The registration fee is P500. Participants will get freebies that include a shirt, race bib, belt, and a loot bag filled with goodies from sponsors.

Aside from Run BGC, a special musical will be mounted: “Close Engkantos of the Christmas Kind.”

Art activities will include the Jeepney Sign Art event, where people can ask to have their names painted on a sheet of metal similar to a jeepney sign; and DIY Saranggola, a kite-making session.

Also on November 29, The Mind Museum will feature a Filipino science show with exhibits that include Liquid Nitrogen Sorbetes and Apoy na Bahaghari (the science behind fireworks).

November 30 (Sunday)

On the last day of the Passionfest, kalesas will be the star of the show. The annual Parada de Kalesa will showcase gaily decorated carriages, marjorettes, and street performers.

Kalesas will also be available to take people around BGC.

The three-day event will be capped off by "Bonifa-SHOW," a variety show featuring top Philippine performers. — BM, GMA News
