What MJ Lastimosa thinks of Manny Pacquiao as Miss Universe judge

Manny Pacquiao will be one of the judges of the Miss Universe pageant, and he thinks Philippines bet MJ Lastimosa would do well in the competition.

 

When told about the Pambansang Kamao's statement, MJ couldn't hide her excitement.

 

"Really?! Wow, that’s a huge compliment coming from someone who really has something to show, like may ibubuga, like hero of the country," she told Portia Cristina Frando of GMA News in an exclusive interview. 

 

Although she received a compliment from Pacquiao ahead of the pageant night, Lastimosa believes that the Miss Universe result will be fair. 

 

"All I can say is, it is all about performance. If you perform really well, then you are deserving to win. It is not about having a Filipino judge. Any judge will pick you as a winner if you are deserving," she said. 

 

But the beauty queen revealed that the presence of the boxing champ gives her that little self-esteem boost to be the best among other 87 girls. 

 

"I would always tell people that having him in the final competition is a great inspiration because he is the kind of person who never gives up in life. He failed. He succeeded. He is a great inspiration to every Filipino, and I am one of these people who's really inspired by his work and his love for God," she revealed. 

 

Miss Universe pageant night will be on January 25 at the FIU Arena at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. — Trisha Macas/JST, GMA News
