San Francisco-based artist Tycho will be in Manila for a one night only performance on Tuesday as part of the final leg of his Asian tour at The Theater of the Solaire Resort and Casino.

The solo project by Scott Hansen, as Tycho is also known, comes to the Philippines as a full band performance with guitarist/bassist Zac Brown, live percussionist Rory O'Connor, and Joseph Davancens on keyboards/guitar.
Before landing in the Philippines, Tycho trooped to various Asian countries including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
"This trip in particular has been special, just because it's so far from home," said Hansen in an exclusive interview with GMA News Online. "We've been to Europe, but Europe still kinda feels like you're in New York sometimes. It feels familiar. Coming to Asia and being able to go to all these different places has been incredible. I still can't believe we've been doing this for three weeks."
Hansen himself is surprised by how far-reaching his music has been, as it has taken him across the world. The artist, also known as ISO50, in the visual design industry highlighted how the audience for "ambient sound" has been expanding:
"Obviously, the base is like graphic designers and people in technology coz I feel like its valuable as a study aid or while you're working, 'cause there's no lyrics. But it kinda has this driving content that pushes you. I think that was our core, but now it seems that it has opened up to a broader audience."
Years into his art, the artist/producer still finds it a challenge to appropriately describe his sound.
"The music is difficult to describe. Somebody called it post-ambient. It's like ambient rock, electronic," Hansen added. "I really have struggled to find a descriptor. But when i try to break it down to like a layman or somebody who's never heard of it, I usually just say it's kind of like a mixture of rock and electronic with an ambient component to it. I've heard people call it post rock but i'd say it's like post-rock electronic." — VC, GMA News
