PHL sets world record for largest gathering of people born in same hospital

The Philippines on Sunday set another new world record, this time for the largest reunion of people born at the same hospital.

According to organizers, 1,221 participants showed up at Market! Market! in Taguig to be counted as having been born in Medical City.

MakeHistoryPH, a community celebrating local achievements, posted on its Facebook photos showing the participants holding a Guinness World Record certification and a History Maker award from History Asia TV.

As of Sunday afternoon, the Guinness World Records website said the largest reunion of people born at the same hospital is 958.

It was achieved by The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Hong Kong to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kwong Wah Hospital on October 9, 2011.
