Bags, shawls, gowns and other items made from Philippine-made fibers are being showcased this week at the Piña and Fiber Festival in Aklan province.

The festival started Wednesday afternoon at the Aklan provincial capitol and will last until Sunday, April 26, GMA News stringer Jun Aguirre reported Thursday.

Organizers said the event highlights the versatility of world-class Philippine fibers such as red pineapple and abaca.

Harold Sarabia, an organizer of a mini-fashion show, said they also want to show how Philippine-made wedding gown designs can be world-class. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
