LOOK: New panda font seeks to raise awareness for endangered pandas

Can a panda-themed font help raise awareness about the endangered species?

World Wildlife Fund Japan created the panda-themed font to boost awareness and donations for its panda fund-raising campaign, DesignTaxi reported.

DesignTaxi said WWF Japan teamed with Ogilvy & Mather Japan to create the font.

It said each character was designed to feature the heads of pandas, adding the font was "made by pandas for pandas."

A separate report on BoredPanda.com cited figures from the WWF indicating giant pandas "are under severe threat from humans and are considered endangered," with just 1,864 in the wild.

"Using this font will help raise awareness of this sad fact and can make an impact on conservation efforts," it said.

On the other hand, tech site The Next Web noted there is presently no clear way how to download the font. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
