PHL officially sets world records for biggest human smiley, costume masks


The Philippines has set not one but two world records this weekend - for the biggest smiley and for the most people wearing costume masks, Guinness World Records said over the weekend.

GWR posted on its Facebook page Friday photos of the world record bid for the biggest human dmiley in Manila, which it said involved some 8,018 people.

It posted photos of the bid on its Facebook page.

The GWR website said the world record bid was organized by Alliance in Motion Global Inc. at Burnham Green in Quirino Grandstand last May 30, to mark AIM Global's ninth anniversary.

It also featured a clip from GMA News' 24 Oras Weekend on the record bid.

"That's one super-sized emoji," GWR said on its Instagram page.

A second world record also organized by Alliance in Motion Global Inc. involved 30,050 people gathering at Ciudad de Victoria May 31.
