Pia Wurtzbach wraps up homecoming visit, promises to be back soon

After spending a week in the Philippines, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is now on her way back to New York City to continue fulfilling her responsibilities as the reigning queen of the most prestigious international beauty pageant.

 

In an Instagram post, Wurtzbach said she had the best time in the Philippines and is very sad at the thought of having to leave so soon.

 

"I'll be back soon, mga kababayan. Naiiyak ako that I have to leave so soon. Sobrang saya ko dito sa Pilipinas," Pia said.

 

She added, "But like I said, this is a responsibility and I have duties now. I will continue making all of you proud!"

 

 

 

 

Wurtzbach has expressed her intention to return to the country for the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 coronation night and to visit her hometown in Cagayan De Oro. 

 

"I would like to visit home and give them like a homecoming as well. We are working on it,”  she said during her press conference at Novotel on January 24. 

 

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing Wurtzbach as a special correspondent for the 2016 Super Bowl 50 of the National Football League on February 8.  —Bianca Rose Dabu/AT/KBK, GMA News
