New ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ trailer gives glimpse of a full-scale invasion

What next after the famous destruction of the White House some twenty years ago? More landmarks seem to be in danger in the new trailer of "Independence Day: Resurgence."

Jeff Goldblum, reprising his role as David Levinson, hints at the aliens targeting more iconic places around the world. 

It's been 20 years since the foiled invasion, but we learn that the extraterrestrials were able to send a distress signal—a new fleet of ships is coming.

Joining Goldblum is Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Jessie Usher, Joey King, Brent Spiner, Trapos Tope, and Sela Ward. 

Original film director Roland Emmerich also heads this sequel that doubles the catastrophe faced by the earth in 1996. 

"Independence Day: Resurgence" opens in Philippine theaters in June 22. — AT, GMA News
