Rihanna's voice joins the voyage in latest ‘Star Trek: Beyond’ trailer

Rihanna goes to the final frontier with her latest single, "Sledgehammer."

The song premiered on June 27, providing the soundtrack to the newest trailer of "Star Trek: Beyond."

Billboard reports that Rihanna has been working on the song since 2014, when she first tweeted the line from the chorus: "You're just another brick and I'm a sledgehammer."

Rihanna posted the cover art for the single on Instagram on Monday, saying she's honored to contribute to the Star Trek franchise, of which she is a fan.
