Kabang meets Sebastian Duterte
Kabang is one lucky lady.
The hero dog traveled to Davao City this week as a "special guest" in a seminar organized by the Animal Welfare Coalition (AWC) and while in the area, she met the unlikely heartthrob born from the campaign season, Sebastian Duterte.
The pair was photographed together Tuesday (July 12), the same day of Kabang's visit to the Davao City Hall.
Kabang spent four days in Davao, touring with other dogs like "survivor dog" Pacquiao to promote responsible pet ownership.
Kabang made headlines in 2011 when she saved two young girls from a speeding motorcycle, which led to her snout being mangled. Kabang underwent an operation to treat her injuries, but still lost her upper snout.
AWC hopes to inspire more people to fight animal cruelty by exposing more people to Kabang's and other dogs' plight.
"We wanted to raise awareness sa pag-aalaga ng aso. Sa rabies awareness also, at the same time, we would like to teach them kung ano ba 'yung nasasakop ng batas regarding sa mga aso at pusa," AWC Director Doctor Jeffrey Chua said.
The AWC, along with Team Kabang, hope that the Duterte administration gives due attention to animal welfare in the Philippines. — AT, GMA News
