Pia Wurtzbach warmly welcomed at DOT
Reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach on Monday was given a warm welcome at the Department of Tourism's office on Monday.
The beauty queen was met by Tourism Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo, who has been supportive of Wurtzbach's hope that the Philippines will again host the Miss Universe coronation night.
In a meeting with Wurtzbach, Teo said the private sector is willing to pledge for the production expenses of the pageant should it be held in the Philippines.

At the DOT, the beauty queen promised to continue being the Philippine Ambassador of Goodwill.
Wurtzbach, who arrived in the Philippines on Saturday, also paid a courtesy call on President Rodrigo Duterte.


According to reports, the Filipina beauty queen and the President will also discuss the possibility of the Philippines' hosting the Miss Universe competition for the first time since 1994.
