‘Club Berlin’ exhibit in Makati offers a glimpse of the German bar scene

Breathe in a bit of "Berlin" at Pineapple Lab studio and gallery in Makati from August 26 until September 25.

The Goethe-Institut Philippinen, together with Manila's newest techno club, XX XX, will present "Club Berlin," an exhibit offering a glimpse into the famed clubbing scene in Berlin, Germany.

Exhibit guests will be treated to state-of-the-art sound installations with music from top Berlin-bred DJs like Modeselektor, Tale of Us and Answer Code Request.

The Goethe-Institut Philippinen is also bringing the works of photographers Sven Marquardt and Martin Eberle to Manila.

Marquardt is a legend in his own right, working as the bouncer for the notorious Berghain nightclub since 2004. He decides who gets in the club and who gets asked to go somewhere else after waiting in line for hours.

Marquardt will be holding an artist talk at Pineapple Lab.

"Club Berlin" runs from August 26 to September 25. Pineapple Lab is at 6071 Palma Street, Rockwell, Makati; XX XX is at 2241 La Fuerza Compound, Chino Roces Avenue, Makati. For more information, visit Goethe Institut. — Aya Tantiangco/VVP, GMA News
