New ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ trailer is here to punish us
The kink-curious folks in the crowd don't need to get on their knees and beg for more—the second "Fifty Shades" movie is really happening and the trailer is here to please masochistic desires.
The sequel to 2015 hit, "Fifty Shades Darker" sees the return of Anastasia "Ana" Steele (Dakota Johnson), a mousy writer whose most memorable trait is lip-biting, and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), a creepy billionaire minus the batarangs.
The trailer opens with Christian—who for some reason isn’t in jail—trying to woo Ana back into his life. Their relationship is obviously built on a solid foundation of love and mutual respect, because Ana gives in to him with hardly a fight.
As the lovestruck duo grace us with their best Edward and Bella impersonations, we see a few scenes that could qualify as soft porn. Then, we’re introduced to a couple of people with very sound advice for Ana. Conflict!
But wait, there’s more! We’re also treated to an intense helicopter battle, and a strange girl who could be the ghost of a woman Christian murdered. Or maybe Ana’s just insane and hallucinating?
Also reprising their roles from “Fifty Shades Grey” are Marcia Gay Harden, Victor Rasuk, Jennifer Ehle, Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Max Martini, and Eloise Mumford.
Joining the cast are Kim Basinger, Eric Johnson, and Bella Heathcote.
James Foley, who directed the movie “Fear” and numerous “House of Cards” episodes, sits in the director’s chair for “Fifty Shades Darker.” It is produced by Marcus Viscidi, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and the one responsible for the “Fifty Shades” trilogy, author E. L. James.
We’ll be seeing “Fifty Shades Darker” in theatres on February 10, 2017—just in time for Valentine’s Day. — AT, GMA News
