Maxine Medina channels Gloria Diaz in glam shoot

Miss Universe 1969 winner Gloria Diaz made headlines recently over her comments about Philippines bet Maxine Medina in this year's pageant.

But that hasn't stopped the current Miss Universe-Philippines from channeling Gloria's classic look in a recent glam shoot.

Pageant enthusiast group Pageant Powerhouse posted a video of Maxine in her Gloria-inspired hair and makeup.

"Yup, its Miss Universe? 1969 Gloria Diaz. I think the theme of this year's glamshot is to portray the famous miss universe winner/contestant from their country," she said.

This weekend, Gloria clarified her recent comments about Maxine's chances of winning the title at home.

“I don't think I've ever heard of a country hosting and then sila ang nanalo. It doesn't seem very hospitable,” she said.

She added, “Siyempre, kailangang mag-first runner-up (si Maxine).”
