After Miss Universe, what’s next for Maxine Medina?
Miss Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina was a proud host delegate at the 65th Miss Universe pageant, and although she did not win the crown, she has had the time of her life giving "101 percent" for her beloved country.
Immediately after the pageant, the first people Maxine wanted to see was her family.
"We were very eager to see her after the pageant. She texted us to go to Conrad to meet her. When we saw her, we hugged her, we kissed her, and we congratulated her. Sabi ko, 'Ate, we are very proud of you... You did well,'" the beauty queen's mother Marife Medina shared in an interview with "News To Go" on Wednesday.
Right now, Maxine's immediate plans include relaxing and spending time with her family and loved ones before going back to work—as a beauty queen, a model, and an interior designer.

After a much-deserved rest, the 26-year-old Filipina beauty queen will “go back to modelling and pursue her interior design career.”
In a Miss Universe video, Maxine shared the personal reason behind her chosen career path: “I never had my own space because we all lived in my grandma’s house. When I entered college, I chose Interior Design because I love creating space.”
“Space affects how we heal, how we work, how we deal with our life,” she said.

While many beauty queens ended up pursuing a career in showbiz, Maxine's mother revealed that being an actress is not one of her daughter's top priorities as of the moment.
She said, “Wala pa kaming napag-uusapan about showbiz, but what I know is she will pursue her modelling career.”

The proud mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all fans who continuously supported her daughter throughout Miss Universe journey.
"Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nag-support at nagdasal para sa anak ko. Nakita ko kung gaano nila kamahal ang anak ko during the pageant. Sa Arena, I've been hearing them calling the name of my daughter 'Maxine! Go! Go!' Ang laking pasasalamat ko sa kanila," Marife said.
Maxine's sister Ferica Medina added, "Nakakataba ng puso kasi alam mong they're ready to show their love and support sa sister ko kahit anong nangyari, kahit ano ang results." — Bianca Rose Dabu/BM, GMA News
