Disney XD releases the first trailer for the new ‘Ducktales’ series
Nostalgic Disney fans from the '80s and '90s have a new reason to tune back to the TV and show their kids and loved ones a treasure from the past, as Disney XD prepares to launch their brand new reimagined “Ducktales” animated series, which is set to come out this summer.
Set for a 21 episode run and two hour long specials, the series will see the return of fan favoriteslike Uncle Scrooge McDuck, as well as his nephew Donald Duck and grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Stepping in for the late great Alan Young who voiced the character in the original 1987 series, "Doctor Who" star David Tenant will be the new voice behind Uncle Scrooge, while Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan voice Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Based on the Duck universe and Uncle Scrooge titles by Carl Banks, "Ducktales" follows the adventures of Scrooge and his grandnephews, as they go on adventures around the world in search of treasure and other items. The series also introduces other notable characters such as Launchpad McQuack, Gyro Gearloose, and Gizmoduck, as they join Scrooge in his adventures and face opposing forces like the Beagle Boys and Flintheart Glomgold.
The new Ducktales series hits Disney XD sometime this summer. — AT, GMA News
