Coldplay’s Chris Martin visits a fan at the PHL General Hospital
It is every Coldplay fan’s dream to meet the popular band's members in the flesh. On Tuesday, that dream came true for Ken Valiant G. Santiago, a medical student at the University of the Philippines Manila.
When Coldplay announced last year that Manila would be a stop on their 'A Head Full of Dreams' tour, Ken eagerly lined up for tickets.
However, in February, Ken was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Due to health reasons, he will not be able to attend the concert.
Ken turned over his Platinum ticket to his younger brother, but his family didn't want him to miss out on the Coldplay experience. In an open letter on Facebook, Ken's older brother Kheil asked if there was any way the band could say "hi" to Ken or send him a short message.
Eight hours before Coldplay’s concert at the SM MOA Arena today, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin visited Ken at the Philippine General Hospital.

“Hindi ka makakapunta sa concert, kaya siya yung pumunta sa iyo,” Rhiza Pascua, the organizer who brought Martin to PGH, told Ken.
Martin gave Ken his cap, and had a chat with the young man.
When the singer discovered that Ken’s favorite Coldplay song is “Ink”, he also immediately texted his band mates to include the song in their set list.

“Ken was very overwhelmed, happy and contented,” Ken’s older sister Kim said on Facebook. “Sa lahat din po ng mga nakisupport para mangyari ito, maraming maraming salamat po. Nothing is impossible if you just believe.”
After Ken's once in a lifetime experience, he posted a message on Twitter to express his gratitude to Martin and the concert organizers.
@itsarpee Words can't even begin to describe how thankful I am. You've made my heart full of joy. Thank you so much.@coldplay
