23 beauties promote health and fitness in Miss Bikini Philippines 2017

Clad in bright pink swimsuits, 23 gorgeous women strutted down the catwalk at the media presentation for the Miss Bikini Philippines 2017 pageant on Tuesday.

The pageant hopes to promote a healthy lifestyle, with the candidates serving as #fitspiration for the public. The women showed off their toned bodies onstage, as well as their personalities in a creative posing competition and a Q&A portion.

The women promoted several other advocacies like mental health awareness and economic stability for the country.

In a report by Nelson Canlas for GMA News' Balitanghali on Wednesday, one candidate was seen passionately exalting single mothers.

"My mother is a single mother. She raised me well and she did everything for me," the candidate declared.

"Now I am standing in front of you, because I am a living proof of a mother who died and also who really sacrificed everything for me."

The Miss Bikini Philippines 2017 grand coronation night will be held on May 12 at the Resorts World Manila. —Aya Tantiangco/ALG, GMA News
