Google Doodles for Philippine Independence day since 2009

For this year's celebration of Independence Day, Google Doodle released a new illustration to recognize the significant holiday in the Philippines.

It emphasized "the colorful celebration of both the Philippine flag and the country's unique island landscapes." It was illustrated by Dan Matutina, a Manila-based Filipino illustrator and designer.

Since 2009, Google Doodle creates extraordinary designs that matches the Filipino culture. It went missing in 2011, only to come back the following year and not stopping to this day.

In 2016, Google featured the jeep in an illustration by Robinson Wood.

In 2015, the elements of the Philippine flag was creatively integrated into Google's logo.

In 2013, it featured a nifty little GIF of our flag waving in what looked like Kawit, Cavite.
