What happened during the Pride March in Marikina

The rainbow was ever present in Saturday's Metro Manila Pride March, as thousands took to the streets of Marikina for the annual celebration.

Members of the LGBT community and their supporters incorporated the iconic symbol in various creative ways: dyed hair, used as balloon wings, pasted on faces, and waved as flags.

Marchers also carried signs as they called for the passage of the Anti-Discrimination Bill, justice for the LGBTs who were discriminated, and a safer space for their community.

The march started at 4 p.m., beginning and ending at the Marikina City Hall.

Attendees were also treated to a two-hour program at the city hall where entertainers graced the stage to give performances. —ALG, GMA News
