Miss Universe Malaysia 2017's national costume is food!

Like our representative to the Miss Universe pageant Rachel Peters, Malaysia's bet Samantha Katie James is busy preparing for the grand event set to happen on November 26.

On Tuesday, James' stirred online buzz among pageant fans as she revealed her national costume. It looked utterly delicious!

James will be walking the stage as...Nasi Lemak, the rice dish served in banana leaf considered to be Malaysia's national food.

The ensemble is designed by Malaysian couturier Brian Khoo. James in an Instagram post revealed that it was beaded fully by hand and took over a month to complete.

"So much love and passion put into such an extraordinary and I’m sure unforgettable national costume representing what we Malaysians love, OUR FOOD!!," James declared.
