Cebu Sinulog celebration underway

On the eve of the feast day of the Holy Infant Jesus or Santo Niño, the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu are abuzz with ongoing religious activities attended by hundreds of devotees.

In the video posted by GMA News' Alan Domingo early Saturday morning, the image is brought through the threshold of the Nuestra Señora de Regla National Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City on its was to the Naval Forces Central (Navforcen) headquarters.

This is the first time the the Philippine Navy will take the lead in the traditional fluvial procession along Mactan Channel.

This year, the Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas AGTA (LC 290) has been assigned as the official vessel for the miraculous image.

On Friday morning, the image was brought from the Basilica del Sto. Niño via a motorcade to the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Mandaue City.

After a mass, the image together with the statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe was then transferred to Lapu-Lapu City around midnight. — BAP, GMA News
