Miss ECO International Thia Thomalla arrives in Manila


Miss Eco International Cynthia "Thia" Thomalla flew in from Egypt on Tuesday night.

A report on Unang Balita said Cynthia came home not just with a crown, but also with lessons learned.

She thanked her supporters who have been supporting her since joining Miss World Philippines in September.

"Thank you so much for everyone who helped me, voted for me  and supported me through day 1 ever since Miss World Philippines and until Miss Eco International. Maraming maraming salamat po, this is all for you guys," Thia said.

Thomalla is the first Filipina representative to win Miss ECO International. She was crowned at the Cairo Opera House in Egypt on April 27.

Miss Indonesia Astira Vernadeina finished first runner-up, Nguyen Thi Dung of Vietnam came in second runner-up and Costa Rica Glennys Medina was named third runner-up and Kelin Rivera Kroll of Peru was fourth runner-up. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
