Catriona Gray off to Thailand for 67th Miss Universe pageant

Filipino-Australian beauty queen Catriona Gray on Thursday has flown to Thailand to start her bid for the fourth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines. 

Catriona chose an emerald green top with corset boning and a cape detail as her "Day 1" outfit. She paired this with gold accessories, reminiscent of the material used for Mindanaoan musical instruments like the kulintang. 

"Off to Thailand to represent my beautiful country the Philippines in @missuniverse," she declared in her departure post. 

She added, "Philippines, mahal kita. I hope to make you proud."

Catriona is seeking to bring home the fourth Miss Universe crown for the country, following in the footsteps of Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Maria Margarita Roxas Moran-Floirendo, and Gloria Maria Aspillera Diaz Daza.
