Katarina Rodriguez's journey at the 2018 Miss World pageant in China

Katarina Rodriguez has her heart set on bringing home the elusive blue crown for the Philippines and become the second Filipina beauty queen to become Miss World. 

The Davaoeña beauty queen did not book an easy ticket to the Top 30 via the fast track events and her hope of winning Beauty with a Purpose was dashed. Still, Katarina is keeping her chin up and her head ready for the responsibilities that she'll have to take on should the crown fall on her head. 

In a series of Instagram videos posted Friday night, she thanked her fans for believing in her — especially when her confidence began wavering.

In 2017, Katarina competed in the Miss Intercontinental pageant, where she placed first runner-up.
