Catriona's Christmas message to Pinoys: 'Open up your heart to your neighbors, to a cause, to a charity near you'
Upon her arrival in the Philippines Wednesday afternoon, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray gave out a Christmas message to her kababayans.
"I hope that you get the spirit of giving this Christmas. Open up your heart to your neighbors, to a cause, to a charity near you," Catriona said.
"Christmas should be enjoyed by all no matter where you are or where you're from or what you have. It really is a time for family and for giving, so please do get in the spirit of Christmas," she added.
Catriona expressed how happy she is to be back home in her home country.

"I'm so happy to be back and to see everyone and to be back home in the Philippines."

At her send-off party for Miss Universe in November, Catriona said her Christmas wish was to bring home the crown.
"My Christmas wish for myself definitely is to be grounded through this whole journey, to remain humble and to hopefully represent our country well. We're surrounded by such an amazing people, such an amazing family and friends and supporters and our team and my wish for the Philippines is to have a very safe Christmas season for everyone to experience joy, gratitude and sana bring home the crown."
And she did it!
Catriona is the fourth Filipina to be hailed as Miss Universe queen after Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Gloria Diaz (1969) and Margarita Moran (1973).

Catriona landed in the Philippines via the private Gulfstream jet of Chavit Singson. Along with Cat are Chavit, Kapuso award-winning journalist and news anchor Jessica Soho, the former governor's daughter Richelle Louise Singson-Michael, and a few members of the Miss Universe organization.
She is set to fly to New York in January 2019 to start her duties as the new Miss Universe queen. — LA, GMA News
