Medical doctor passes 2018 Bar exams

A medical doctor was among the 1,800 examinees who passed the 2018 Bar examinations.

Dr. Jean Joan D. Polido was ecstatic when she learned on Friday that she passed the grueling exam.

She said she really wanted to be a lawyer. However, her parents wanted her to be a doctor, and so she finished medicine at the University of Santo Tomas, cum laude, and passed the licensure examination in August 2011.

But then she couldn't let go of her dream to be a lawyer. And so she enrolled at the Arellano University School of Law.

Jean had to study hard in law school. But despite the challenges, she finished her law degree with the help of her husband, child, parents, and siblings.

Jean intends to purse a medico-legal career.

To those who are also dreaming of becoming a lawyer, Jean has this advice: "Kung may pangarap ka, pag nahihirapan ka na, laging mong tatandaan kung ano ba ang pangarap mo at kung para kanino ka nangangarap. Pray to your God and He will do the rest. Obstacles make the success sweeter. Laban lang! #WhateverItTakes".
