Catriona Gray shares what she has learned during her reign as Miss Universe

Catriona Gray said if there are things she has learned from being Miss Universe the past six months, it is to trust in God and have faith in yourself.

At a press conference with Frontrow International and the Miss Universe Organization on Thursday, Catriona was asked by the press about what lessons she would pass on to any future grandchildren, as well as future Miss Universe queens.

"It's really that we are on a path for a reason," Catriona said. "There were a lot of times when I would question, 'Why do I have  this ambition in my heart?' Because when you do come across roadblocks  or come against a wall when you're pursuing a dream..So it's first trusting in God and having faith in yourself."

The beauty queen also said one should realize what their purpose is.

"Purpose for me comes from serving other people. We can't just be up there for ourselves, it's not fulfilling in the same way, I promise you," Catriona said.

She added, "Purpose is about being in that position and taking advantage of that position to give to others. That's when it really becomes fulfilling work and you find your purpose as a person."
