Pia Wurtzbach asks Miss Universe to block netizens who spread hate

After "toxic comments" spread all over the Miss Universe's Instagram account, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurzbach suggested that the page block netizens who keep "spreading hate."

In a recent Instagram post, the Miss Universe account posted a tweet from Pia, which said, "To anyone who's going through something, kapit lang! We're here for you!"

Wurtzbach added, "Aside from posting pictures, positive messages, updates about Cat, why not take time to scroll through the comments also and block the ones that are spreading hate on this page.

"Miss universe celebrates unity in diversity. Miss Universe uplifts, empowers and inspires. I think the IG account (and comments that everyone can see) should reflect that also. Not sure if they're aware but it's become quite t o x i c here already. That's not what MU is about. ?? No more bullying and spreading hate on this page, please."

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has been receiving hateful comments on the Instagram page lately, ranging from body-shaming to criticism about her involvement in her advocacies.

Gray also spoke up about bullying a month ago, saying, "I don't condone any form of bullying or bashing. Even if it's in response to an initial comment or in the name of 'protecting' or 'standing up.' If you respond to hate with hate, you have a never-ending cycle. All of us have the power to be the difference, and I hope we will."
