5 things to know about Mr. World Philippines JB Saliba
Before the Mr. World 2019 competition takes place on Friday August 23, we thought it best to introduce our manok, Mr. World Philippines JB Saliba, and wish him good luck. We know competing against 66 other contestants sound isn't a walk in the park.

1. He is among the Top 5 candidates vying for the Top Model spot of the pageant
The winner of the Top Model spot will earn a place in the Top 12 of the competition, and will become a model for Bench Body. JB is against Dominican Republic, England, Venezuela, and Mexico.
2. JB is an athlete
According to JB, he "actually made my future because of sports.” He started playing baseball at age 6, and even made it to the Junior RP Team.
At the moment, he also plays golf and is into longboarding and wakeboarding.
3. He is an isko!
An iskolar ng bayan that is. JB didn't just attend the University of the Philippines, he actually also played in the UAAP for UP.
4. He is a proud son of Olongapo
After he won Mr. World Philippines, JB took to Facebook to thank not just his family and friends but the City of Olongapo as well.
5. Children — and especially different-abled ones— have a special place in his heart
Speaking to GMA News Online, JB shared how a class in UP had them handling kids with disabilities. “Napunta ako sa kids who are visually impaired. I fell in love with them and it made me reach out kung ano pa ang puwede, how I can help them through sports.”
