Deniece Cornejo gets perfect score in online Harvard course finals
Former model Deniece Cornejo, who was involved in the controversy surrounding the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro in 2014, announced a recent educational achievement on her Facebook page over the weekend.
In a photo she posted Sunday, Cornejo is seen holding a certificate from HarvardX for passing the online program Child Protection: Children's Rights in Theory and Practice.
HarvardX is an online arm of Harvard University that offers online courses.
Cornejo said she received a scarf from the prestigious institution, as well.
"I finally did it! And received a cute gift. Yes I passed!!!! Got the perfect [100] in the finals!" she wrote.
Cornejo said the achievement comes after "almost eight months of sleepless nights and a lot of reading."
"What they say is true, hard work never betrays. It all pays off in the end."
She added: "The work continues for the children rights protection program where countries such as Nigeria, Nepal, Africa, Japan, US, India and Russia took active participation in the discussion."
"I am honored to lobby for international human rights specifically in children rights theory and practice," she said.
Cornejo had filed rape and attempted rape complaints against Vhong Navarro, which were later dismissed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2017.
She had alleged that Navarro sexually abused her on January 17, 2014. Five days later, on January 22, Navarro was mauled by a group of men led by businessman Cedric Lee, resulting in the actor's hospitalization for multiple injuries. —Margaret Claire Layug/KBK, GMA News
