YouTuber PewDiePie says he's now banned in China
One of the world's biggest YouTube stars, PewDiePie, announced that he just got banned in China.
The Swedish YouTube creator, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, told his more than 100 million subscribers in a recent upload that his content can no longer be viewed on several platforms in China, which practices strict internet surveillance.
"Now, if you search anything PewDiePie-related on any Reddit related forum in China, or YouTube related videos, it will just be completely blank," said Kjellberg.
The YouTuber apologized to his viewers, but mentioned it did not come as a surprise.
"I'm laughing, but yeah I'm sorry if you are in China and trying to watch my videos, that kinda sucks," Kjellberg said in the video. "It's just kinda funny, like, I knew it was gonna happen."
He also tweeted about the supposed ban.
