Catriona Gray gets her own Madame Tussauds wax figure

Catriona Gray will be having her image immortalized as she gets her own Madame Tussauds wax figure in Singapore.

The Miss Universe 2018 queen announced the news on her Instagram account on Monday morning.

In a statement released by Madame Tussauds Singapore, they said Catriona's wax figure will be wearing "a replica of the iconic lava gown, inspired by Albay's Mayon Volcano, specially designed by Mak Tumang, which she wore when she won the 2018 Miss Universe tile."

Madame Tussauds Singapore said Catriona will be unveiling her wax figure in Manila before it travels to Singapore where it will be staying for a period of time before it travels to Bangkok and Hong Kong.

"I am so excited to see the final figure and be a part of this special event! To unveil the figure in my home country with my fans watching is another dream come true." Catriona said in a statement.

Catriona will be the first Filipino to have a wax figure in Madame Tussauds Singapore, while Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was the first Filipino to have a wax figure in Hong Kong.

Pia's wax figure was unveiled in Manila last March, and it is permanently displayed in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.

Catriona turned over her Miss Universe crown to South African beauty queen Zozibini Tunzi last December 9 in Atlanta. — RSJ, GMA News
